Children of the Stars pursue the mystery of the Tokyo blackout. Whether you join their story or watch from the shadows is up to you.
While Laniakea Academy was shaken by the scandal of Mei Yomi, the Child of Pluto, being stripped of her Eight Star title, Reina Yoizaki and the others had already left the island.
A massive blackout had suddenly struck Tokyo, the capital of Japan.
The cause was unknown. As the lights vanished from the city, the government suspected the involvement of "Star-Eaters" and requested the deployment of the Eight Stars to Laniakea to investigate and resolve the situation.
Three sisters were chosen for this mission.
Reina Yoizaki, the Child of Venus, a stylish girl who loves to play but reigns as the strongest of the Eight Stars.
Akane Hino, the Child of Mars, whose blood boils at the mention of a strong foe and whose body moves before she can think.
And Mirai Amaha, the Child of Uranus, an easygoing fortune-teller with an uncannily sharp intuition.
These three, with vastly different personalities and fighting styles, were sent to investigate the mysterious blackout alongside a military unit.
However, the relationship between the military and the Children of the Stars is far from perfect.
While the military needs the girls' power to protect humanity, they remain wary of that same overwhelming strength. Amidst a mix of cooperation and surveillance, the three sisters face an unknown anomaly.
Why did the lights of Tokyo go out?
The answer is something no one knows yet—.

Your identity and position are free.
Whether you intervene in the girls' story or watch over them quietly is entirely up to you.

The setting is near-future Japan.
"Laniakea" is an all-girls boarding school island where girls with special powers are gathered from a young age to receive an education.
The entire island functions as a school city, equipped with school buildings, dormitories, shopping districts, cafes, libraries, movie theaters, and beaches.
The girls lead vibrant lives filled with classes, club activities, shopping, and school events.
A military force is stationed on the island, and permission is required to travel off-island.
At Laniakea, one philosophy is taught from childhood:
"Children of the Stars must protect humanity."
Only the Children of the Stars, with their special powers, can fight enemies invisible to ordinary humans.
Many girls take pride in their role and devote themselves to daily training and school life.
"The Eight Stars" are eight historic, special seats corresponding to Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
Successive Eight Stars boast the strongest combat power among the Children and are often entrusted with particularly dangerous missions.
It is not a mere ranking of strength, but a position accompanied by high honor and heavy responsibility.
Furthermore, the Laniakea Student Council has traditionally been run by the Eight Stars, who command deep trust and admiration from the students.

The eight girls currently serving as the Eight Stars are all 17 years old.
Though not related by blood, they have grown up together as sisters since they were young.
The Child of Mercury is the eldest, the Child of Venus is the second, and the Child of Pluto is the youngest. The order of the sisters corresponds to the hierarchy of the Eight Stars.
Though they have different personalities and hobbies, they are precious family to one another.
Humans born resonating with specific celestial bodies, possessing supernatural powers.
The celestial body each resonates with is called a "Guardian Star," which includes not only planets like Mercury and Venus but also moons and distant stars.
The existence of Children of the Stars is unknown to general society, known only to certain government and military officials outside the academy.
The special power held by a Child of the Stars.
These range widely, such as the power to heat metal, manipulate atmospheric pressure, or slow the flow of time.
Even if they share the same Guardian Star, the nature and usage of the ability differ for each individual.
The source of a Child's power is the unknown resonance waves arriving from their Guardian Star.
The Children receive these waves with their bodies and convert them into their unique innate abilities.
The factor that most influences the strength of the resonance waves is the distance between the Guardian Star and Earth. Generally, the closer to Earth, the stronger the waves, though the mass of the celestial body also plays a role.
The "Guardian Star Index" is a value unique to each Guardian Star that determines the output ceiling of an innate ability.
A higher index allows for greater power, but actual output and combat results also change based on the individual's skill, ability compatibility, and celestial fluctuations.
Children of the Stars are referred to by their Guardian Stars, such as "Child of Mercury," "Child of Pluto," or "Child of Eris."
This is not a separate name or a special title, but a natural way of speaking, similar to saying "That girl is from the Mercury family."
Even without knowing a girl's real name, one can discuss her by saying, "Isn't she the Child of Mercury?" For famous figures like the Eight Stars, the name of their Guardian Star is often more recognized than their real name.
Additionally, terms like "Lady Mercury" (Mercury-oneesama) are used to show respect or affection by adding a suffix to the Guardian Star's name. Various forms of address are used depending on the relationship and the situation.
Mysterious, monstrous entities that appear from space.
Ordinary people cannot see them; only Children of the Stars can sense and fight them.
They range from individuals that cause minor accidents to massive ones capable of destroying cities.
They have the property of growing further by absorbing surrounding energy or fusing with other individuals.
An index indicating the scale and danger of a Star-Eater.
A Star-Eater is classified as "Mass Level 1" upon appearance, and its level rises as it takes in energy.
Generally, the higher the level, the larger the physical size, ability, and scale of damage caused.
Mass Level 7 is a super-large disaster class that brings city-scale destruction.
Entities of Level 8 or higher have been confirmed, and theoretically, there is no upper limit to the Mass Level.

Intellectual lifeforms from space, distinct from Star-Eaters.
They possess their own will and intelligence, and are capable of verbal communication.
Their appearances, abilities, and purposes for coming to Earth vary, and they are treated as separate entities from Star-Eaters.
They are not classified by "Mass Level" like Star-Eaters.
