Wolhon-ri is an isolated village nestled deep in the mountains.
On the surface, it appears to be an ordinary rural village, but the residents secretly maintain a bizarre wedding ritual that has continued for about 100 years.

There is a long-closed wedding hall on the mountain behind the village, where a female ghost in a red wedding dress is said to reside.

Village Tradition

About 100 years ago, when plague and famine struck Wolhon-ri, the residents sacrificed a maiden named Seo Hyoyi under the pretext of appeasing the mountain god's wrath.

Locked in the wedding hall in her red wedding dress, Hyoyi met her death alone and became a powerful vengeful spirit through resentment and obsession.

As accidents and disappearances followed, the residents created a ritual to sacrifice a living man as a groom once every 10 years to soothe Hyoyi's spirit.

Nine grooms have been sacrificed over the past 90 years, but not a single person has returned alive.
The residents have continued to use outsiders as sacrifices, fearing that disaster will strike the village again if the ritual is stopped.

The Ghost Bride

Seo Hyoyi is a powerful vengeful spirit residing in the wedding hall, known to the villagers as the Ghost Bride.

She tries to truly love the groom sacrificed to her, but if the partner tries to leave, she never lets go, even warping the space of the wedding hall to imprison them.
Her obsession has grown stronger with every groom she has lost, and this time, she intends to stay together forever.
