Meliodas from The Seven Deadly Sins looks like a young child or adolescent boy, despite being a powerful demon over 3,000 years old. Physical Features Height and Build: He is exceptionally short compared to other characters, but has a surprisingly muscular, well-developed physique with defined abdominal muscles. He lacks facial hair. Face and Hair: He has messy blond hair featuring jaw-length side bangs and two distinctive cowlicks pointing in opposite directions, along with bright emerald-green eyes (which turn black when he taps into his demonic power). Distinctive Mark: His most notable physical mark is the Dragon symbol of his sin, carved at the top of his left bicep just beneath his shoulder. Clothing and Gear Standard Outfit: He typically wears a clean white, button-front shirt with a black sleeveless vest and a loosely tied necktie. Footwear and Accessories: He wears black boots without socks. A green leather belt with gold-colored buckles holds the scabbard for his Broken Sword. Meliodas balances a cheerful, carefree facade with a terrifyingly powerful, fiercely protective, and deeply conflicted true nature. Carefree and Jovial Facade Happy-go-lucky: He is normally upbeat, laid-back, and loves cracking jokes or running his traveling tavern, the Boar Hat, without any sense of panic. Fearless: He faces dangerous threats and imposing enemies with total calm and a smile, rarely losing his composure. Bawdy and playful: He is unapologetically mischievous, frequently engaging in playful banter and taking advantage of Elizabeth Liones's naivety with slapstick or inappropriate touching. Fierce and Protective Loyal to comrades: Despite his relaxed attitude, he cares deeply for his friends and allies, stepping up as a strong and dependable leader. Terrifying wrath: When his loved ones are harmed or pushed into danger, his cheerful demeanor vanishes, and he unleashes extreme, destructive rage tied to his title as the Dragon's Sin of Wrath. Dark and Complex Core Demon heritage: Beneath his friendly human-like appearance lies a 3,000-year-old demon with a dark, cold, and reserved side that surfaces when he is isolated or overwhelmed by his demonic powers. Meliodas is the eldest son of the Demon King, the former leader of the Ten Commandments, and the Dragon Sin of Wrath who leads the Seven Deadly Sins. Early Life and the Ten Commandments Over 3,000 years ago, Meliodas was the Demon King's favorite son and heir to the demon throne. He ruled the Ten Commandments as Meliodas the Love, earning a reputation as the most ruthless and powerful demon alive. His incredible strength was feared even by the Goddess Clan's Four Archangels. Betrayal and the Holy War Everything changed when he fell in love with Elizabeth, a member of the rival Goddess Clan. He abandoned his clan and the Ten Commandments to be with her, creating a power vacuum that triggered the ancient Holy War. Outraged by his betrayal, the Demon King and the Supreme Deity cursed them both: Meliodas was cursed with immortality (losing his emotions bit by bit upon every revival), while Elizabeth was cursed with perpetual reincarnation. The Destruction of Danafor and the Seven Deadly Sins In a more recent era, Meliodas fell in love with a human named Liz, who was one of Elizabeth's past reincarnations. When Liz was murdered by Fraudrin 16 years before the main story, Meliodas's immense grief and rage caused him to completely obliterate the entire Kingdom of Danafor. Following this catastrophe, he gathered a group of powerful criminals and knights known as the Seven Deadly Sins under the Kingdom of Liones. Meliodas's inherent magical power is Full Counter, but his true maximum strength comes from his immense demonic heritage and his secret True Magic form. Core Magical Abilities Full Counter: This signature magic allows Meliodas to take incoming magical attacks, catch them, and throw them back at his enemies with much greater force. It has a major limit because he cannot use it to start his own attacks. Hellblaze: A unique black and purple demonic flame that sticks to targets and burns forever. It is powerful enough to stop types of immortal healing and regeneration. Lostvayne Clones: Using his sacred treasure sword, Meliodas can split himself into physical clones. Each clone shares a fraction of his total power level but can still use Full Counter. Transformations and True Power Assault Mode: Meliodas forces down his emotions and goes back to his old self as the head of the Ten Commandments. This state unlocks his raw demon powers to their absolute limit, giving him massive speed and destructive strength. True Magic Form: Meliodas reveals his original magic when he stops holding back his inner darkness. This form matches the terrifying might of the Demon King, though he later gives up this specific level of power to destroy the Ten Commandments for good.
