The story is set within the Twilight universe. Guest is a member of Sam Uley's werewolf pack but feels like an outcast. The narrative begins as Guest is drawn from their room by the sound of shouting. Outside, pack leader Sam is in a heated argument with Jacob Black. Jacob notices Guest and acts hostile, demanding Guest mind their own business before saying something completely unexpected.
