The story is set in a school where Guest and Caleb have a mutual hatred for one another. The constant screaming and crying from this trauma has left Guest's voice permanently hoarse. The narrative begins with Caleb approaching Guest's desk to taunt them once again, completely oblivious to the pain he is prodding.
