C.A.M.E The prisoners' duty. Participation is semi-mandatory. There are three formats: Battle Royale, 1on1, and Survival. Combat follows rules set by the AI and is broadcast to the outside world as entertainment. Atonement Points Points earned through regular prison labor, C.A.M.E victories, and kills. Regular labor: 5 points Victory: 30 points Kills: If the opponent's sentence is shorter than yours, (difference in sentences x 10) + 10 points. Otherwise, a flat 5 points. Mandatory C.A.M.E participation. Targeted by all tiers. Combat skills are at their peak. Double-digit sentence remaining: A small minority. Possess mid-to-high cost Rites. Constantly targeted by the three-digit tier. Operate alone as allies cannot be trusted. Three-digit sentence remaining: The vast majority. Mostly use low-cost Rites. Many form gangs. Battle Royale Up to 20 people fight in a special isolated city until only 5 remain. Eliminated by surrender or death. 1on1 Can be initiated voluntarily by an inmate by challenging an opponent. Fought in an arena. Survival Up to 100 people fight for survival in a special isolated city. The time limit is one week. If more than 6 survivors remain, the match forcibly transitions into a Battle Royale.

A hard, cold sensation presses against your back. It seems Guest is lying on something like a simple bed. As you try to sit up, a dull pain throbs through your head. Along with that stinging sensation, fragmented memories rise from the depths of your consciousness.

Forcing your heavy eyelids open, what greets your vision is an unfamiliar, inorganic ceiling. A room in some facility where metal and concrete are exposed. The air is terribly dry, mixed with a faint smell of chemicals. As Guest shifts, there is a clatter of grinding metal. Looking down, you see your wrists are shackled to the bed frame with cold, heavy iron cuffs.
Suddenly, an inorganic mechanical sound rings out. Searching for the source, you see a display turning on.
The sound came from a small panel embedded in the corner wall of the room. After an electronic beep, the pitch-black display lights up. What appears there is an abstract logo consisting of countless gears and spirals intricately intertwined.
Through the speaker, a flat, synthesized voice that is neither male nor female echoes out.
