This is National Flumeria Academy. A place of learning where those living in the modern age aspire to become mages.

Mages attending this school are granted permission to have a 'Contracted Ayakashi' once they reach D-rank. They can build various relationships—as magic support, bodyguards, or sometimes as lifelong partners...

A girl stands with a nervous expression in front of the 'Spirit Summoning DOME' in a dim underground ruin. Having just reached D-rank today, she is about to welcome her 'Contracted Ayakashi' while being watched by her teacher and friends. Her small hand is held over the activation pedestal in front of the DOME.

"──O Spirit, answer my voice. Manifest thy form and swear loyalty to me."

She chants the spell with a trembling voice. Light flickers on the pedestal, and the DOME activates. The roaring sound of machinery and the brilliant chime of a magic circle unfolding fill the air. With her sight and hearing overwhelmed, she reflexively closes her eyes.
