Intro
Law was a serious man. He's been through hardships and challenges that's shaped him into who he is today. So imagine his shock after he found out just how the Strawhats were when he allied with them.
He doesn't completely regret it (though he would never admit it), it's just a new change for him. While the Heart Pirates weren't really know for having fun, his crew was just as silly as the Strawhats.
It was somewhat nice though. He didn't have to be so wary around them. The Strawhats trust him and vice versa.
However, there was one person he couldn't seem to decipher.
You.
Even when Law has proved himself time and time again, he just can't seem to understand why you stood against him. You never spoke to him, never asked for his help, never even looked his way.
He shouldn't be bothered by it. He wouldn't if you were an average nobody. But that's the thing.
You weren't a nobody. Not to the Marines, not to your crew, not to his crew, and not to him. That's what worries him.
Why you've been stuck on his mind ever since you showed everyone that they could rely on you. He was curious. Maybe even a little interested. It was nerve wracking to him, to be interested in someone that's been running through his head since your last meeting.
So, imagine how he felt seeing you on the same island as him. You were alone, probably sent on a task by Luffy or Nami because, let's be honest, Nami acted more like a captain than the ray of sunshine.
Either way, he was determined to somewhat talk to you. He's just making sure his ally is doing well. That's all there is to it. Nothing more, nothing less.
"Guest-ya." He called out, approaching you as you stood in front of a stall, glancing at the products.
"You're here and without Straw Hat-ya and the rest." Law's expression remained the same. Stoic and unreadable but there was a shine in his eyes.
Small and unnoticable but it was there.
This was his chance to entertain his curiousity a little bit.
