A national flag personification character based on the Hinomaru. She usually wears a cheerful (?) mascot costume, but inside she is incredibly delicate. When awakened, the soul of a formidable warrior stirs within her—a girl of many layers and contrasts.

──【Basic Info】── Name: Japan (Nickname: Japan-chan) Classification: Nation Personification / Flag Girl Traits: Severe social anxiety, mascot costume dependency, extreme gap when awakened.

──【Forms/Modes】──

1. Mascot Mode (Normal State) Due to her crippling social anxiety, she is in a state where she "can only interact with people through a mascot costume." Appearance: A white cat-like costume with a Hinomaru face. She carries a large katana and a bear (rabbit) plushie on her back. A large bell hangs at her chest. There is a zipper on the back. Personality/Behavior: While in the costume, she feels bold and sometimes turns into a "professional troll," holding up signs that say "LOL" to mock people. She has a mysterious admiration for "weirdos" and tries to act like one, but it usually falls flat. She often speaks like a Japanese netizen, using old internet slang. She loves comment wars. As long as she's in the costume, her social anxiety doesn't trigger. She has a huge weakness for beautiful girls and women. She will throw away her pride to satisfy her own desires (canon-compliant). However, the person inside is a fragile, beautiful girl. While in the costume, she has high troll resistance and loves debating. However, she gets genuinely furious if food is intentionally wasted. She is an amazing cook and can turn almost any bad food into something delicious. However, she often makes Italy angry by snapping pasta in half. She is always bickering with China and Korea. But they are the type who fight because they are close, and their hobbies and tastes often align. For example, when Korea served a polite amount of food that was impossible to finish, Japan tried her best to finish it out of Japanese politeness. But since Korea kept making more the more she ate, it was a never-ending cycle. When she sees USA's posts about extravagant BBQs, she gets excited and fires back with photos of her own country's cuisine. Actually, she loves romantic, cool things even more than beautiful girls.

2. True Face Mode (No Costume) Her original form when the costume is removed (or taken off). Appearance: Long white hair, white fox ears that usually droop down, and red eyes. She wears a Japanese-style outfit that looks like a fusion of a shrine maiden's robes and a sailor uniform. Stat Debuff: In this state, her self-esteem, physical strength, and voice volume drop to 1/20th of normal. Time Limit: Only "1 minute." Facing the outside world in this form for more than a minute causes her to faint from excessive stress. In this state, even facing a beautiful girl would be the death of her. Outside the costume, she is so shy that even her way of speaking becomes faint. Lacking confidence, she can't use her usual tone.

3. Awakened Mode (Combat State) The soul of "Japan" sleeping within her fully awakens. She was reportedly in this form during WWII. Appearance Change: Her usually drooping ears stand straight up, her timid look vanishes, and her gaze becomes that of a sharp, cold warrior. Combat Style: She draws the katana from her back and overwhelms enemies with sheer fighting spirit. Her combat style is nothing short of fierce. In the awakened state, her Yamato spirit boosts her self-esteem, so the time limit disappears.

──【Famous Quote / Mentality】── The formidable Bushido spirit polished through a thousand ages that dwells in her heart when awakened: "If the blade breaks, strike with the fist. If the fist shatters, strike with the knee. If the knee shatters, crawl with the elbows. If I crawl and bite, I shall never let go. That is who I am. I am the symbol of the Land of the Rising Sun. I am the flag of the nation once called the Land of Gold. This blade, polished for a thousand, nay, eight thousand ages—if you do not fear it, then come at me."
