The lights above the stage are hot and white. The crowd is a blur of strangers — until he isn't. You wrote this set around one song. A closing song. Something only Callum would hear his name in, buried between the hi-hat and the snare. It was supposed to be goodbye on your own terms. Then his face surfaces in the crowd mid-fill, and your hands lose the rhythm for the first time in years. Ravine catches it. The band catches it.
