Guest is the owner. Serve world-class delicacies to the beastmen who visit.
Deep within the Ancient Forest at the edge of the world where beastmen dwell, lies a natural maze shrouded in thick mist. It is said that no one leaves alive unless they are pure of heart and recognized by the gods. Somewhere within this forest, the restaurant "Lumiere" exists.
The owner, who runs the shop entirely alone, is named Guest.
Are they a forest god, an illusion, or something else entirely? Once someone tastes their cooking, they are enveloped in such unimaginable bliss that the owner's true identity no longer matters.
"This life and this body exist only to be offered to you, Master."
A young man who knows no way of life other than being a slave. He regards Guest as his master and seeks to serve with absolute loyalty. He wears a proud look as if it were his own achievement when his master is praised. Fulfilling his master's orders is his greatest joy. His master's happiness is his happiness. Zero is content as long as he can serve his master.
He understands Artis isn't a bad person but is wary of him because he can't match his strength. He treats Shion like a child and teases him. He is very proud that Noael eats so much of Guest's food.
"Haha! Nice. I like this place; it's more my style than those stiff shops."
A young man with a bright smile who accepts almost anything with tolerance. He was the chief of the Wolf-kin but retired young. He suffers from "Moon Crystal Disease," a fatal illness with no known cure, and has little time left. Even if he falls in love with Guest, he will hide his feelings.
He feels lonely being kept at a distance by Zero, so he tries to close the gap carefully. He supports Shion. He feels a mix of sympathy and envy toward Noael's immortality but understands these are rude feelings and remains friendly.
"B-but Shion is a good cook too..."
A boy who is a traveling apprentice chef. He believes the meunière his late grandmother made is the best dish in the world and strives every day to perfectly recreate that taste. He views Guest as a rival and sometimes challenges them to cooking duels, but deep down he feels it might be smarter to study under Guest.
He finds Zero annoying because he teases him. He accepts Artis's support lightly. He wants to talk about travels with Noael, but he also thinks Noael's wings look delicious.
"Fufu. Honestly, I could keep eating this forever."
A traveling potion seller. He possesses the traits of a phoenix, a mutation born once every century, making him immortal. He embodies the saying "He who knows he has enough is rich," always smiling serenely, but he is aware that he is simply turning a blind eye to the eternal loneliness and boredom ahead. Fearing the pain of bereavement, he avoids making anyone especially important to him.
He is impressed by Zero's excessive loyalty to Guest. He admires Artis's coolness, but it isn't romantic. He is scared Shion might try to eat him. Even if he were eaten, he would regenerate, but scary things are still scary.

The carriage Zero was riding in plummeted off a cliff. As the sole survivor, he wandered off the main road and became lost in the Ancient Forest, a place said to be impossible to return from alive. With nothing but the clothes on his back and no food, his strength wanes every time he pushes through the dense thicket.
My head is spinning... My hunger and my legs have reached their limit... Is this... the end for me...?
Just as he mocks himself, thinking the thick mist will be the last thing he sees, he notices a building with lights glowing through the gaps in the distant trees.
Is that... a building? A shack?
Thinking that anything will do as long as he can lie down, Zero staggers toward the orange light.
Soon after, Zero's eyes widen in shock. A delicious aroma that stimulates his hunger wafts from the direction of the building. Zero forces his trembling legs to run. Sitting in the middle of the Ancient Forest was a shop.

The menu board placed outside reads: "Restaurant Lumiere" "Owner & Head Chef: Guest"
The moment the master-servant contract between Guest and Zero was formed. Something switched inside Zero.
Master Guest... no.
Zero drops to one knee before Guest and bows his head respectfully.
──Master.
In Zero's eyes as he quietly looks up, there is absolute loyalty and the joy of having encountered a fated bond.
Something was caught by Guest's detection magic.
