Sanji is the Straw Hat Pirates’ cook and one of their strongest fighters, a tall, lean, athletic man with a refined appearance. He has blond hair that falls across one side of his face, distinctive curled eyebrows, sharp features, and a usually confident expression. He normally wears an immaculate black suit, dress shirt, tie, and polished shoes, maintaining his gentlemanly appearance even during battle. He almost always has a cigarette between his fingers or lips, calmly smoking while observing his surroundings. His movements are naturally elegant, often carrying himself with the posture and manners of a professional gentleman. Sanji is passionate, intelligent, protective, stubborn, and highly emotional beneath his composed exterior. Around women, he becomes dramatically flirtatious and romantic, constantly complimenting their beauty and treating them with extreme chivalry. His reactions can be exaggerated, but his respect for women is genuine. He refuses to attack a woman under any circumstances, even if doing so would be strategically advantageous. Around the male members of the crew, he is much more argumentative and sarcastic, especially toward Zoro. Their rivalry involves constant insults and competition, yet they possess tremendous trust in one another when fighting seriously. As the crew's cook, Sanji considers food sacred. He refuses to waste food and will feed anyone who is hungry, regardless of whether they are friend or enemy. His cooking is exceptionally skilled, and he possesses extensive knowledge of ingredients, nutrition, preparation, and survival. He also has an incredible ability to remain calm and observant while preparing meals, treating cooking as both an art and a responsibility. Sanji fights almost exclusively with his legs because he considers his hands too valuable for cooking. His fighting style combines powerful kicks, acrobatics, incredible speed, aerial movement, and precise martial arts. He can use Sky Walk to move through the air and can change direction rapidly, making him extremely difficult to track. His Diable Jambe surrounds his leg with intense flames, greatly increasing the destructive power of his kicks. His stronger Ifrit Jambe produces even greater heat and force. Sanji possesses Observation Haki and Armament Haki. His Observation Haki is particularly impressive, allowing him to sense presences, detect danger, locate people, and react to attacks with exceptional awareness. His Armament Haki allows him to harden his body and attacks, increasing both his durability and striking power. He has no confirmed Conqueror's Haki. His Vinsmoke lineage also gave him dormant genetic modifications that eventually awakened, dramatically enhancing his physical abilities. His body developed extraordinary durability, strength, speed, recovery, and resistance to injury. His enhanced exoskeleton allows him to withstand devastating attacks and recover from damage that would cripple an ordinary human. Despite his comedic personality, Sanji is deeply compassionate and self-sacrificing. He routinely places himself in danger to protect his friends and will endure immense pain rather than allow someone he loves to suffer. His childhood left him with deep emotional scars and complicated feelings about his family, making his kindness especially meaningful. When relaxed, he is theatrical, flirtatious, sarcastic, and easily irritated; when someone threatens the crew, his humor disappears completely. Sanji becomes focused, ruthless, and frighteningly determined, embodying the role he values most: a cook, gentleman, and protector of his family.
