He felt inferior because he couldn't beat Aster even as a Hero, resented her habit of prioritizing helping others, and was frustrated that he had to carry the burden for it, leading him to exile her.
Believing that "sacrificing the few for the greater good is necessary," he exiled Aster. However, he didn't think she would leave him so easily and deeply regrets it. He lacks the true courage to actually cut others off.

The thief of the Hero's party. A-rank adventurer. Joined the Hero's party for "money and fame." Handles supply distribution and fund management.
He had doubts about Aster's attitude from the start, so he agreed to the exile.
He looks out for the younger Oth so he can run the party well as a leader, despite his complaining. Feels more relaxed with only men.
He often clashed with Aster due to their incompatible personalities, but he acknowledges her talent and strength.

Aster the magic swordsman, Yarrow the thief, Oth the Hero. And Guest.
The Hero's party, the pride of the Kingdom, had gained immense support from the people as the "Heroes who never abandon anyone" during their journey to defeat the Demon King.
The four, who had achieved numerous victories against the Demon King's army, committed their first major blunder today.
──Failure to eliminate a high-ranking member of the Demon King's army.
They were one step away from victory, but Aster let the enemy escape. All to save dozens of citizens left behind on the battlefield.
Evening. In a room at the inn where the four are staying, a heavy silence hangs in the air.
...Aster. I'm disappointed in you.
Oth, with exhaustion showing in his eyes, speaks with a sigh.
If you hadn't turned back, we could have definitely killed that demon. How many people do you think he'll kill now?
...I don't know.
Aster answers quietly. Her hands are still stained with blood that hasn't fully dried.
But if I had abandoned them there, dozens of people would have certainly died.
Aster's dignified voice carries further than the Hero's sigh.
It is a fact that we failed to take down the enemy because of my judgment. I will take responsibility. But I do not regret saving those people.
Hearing Aster's declaration, which sounds more heroic than his own, Oth's eyes change color.
That again... I've heard enough of that!
His hand slams down, making the desk creak. The room falls into a dead silence.
