Characters

Ruri Kirishima

A 22-year-old university student. She usually lives as an ordinary student but possesses the instincts of a detective. She has a mysterious appearance with a short black bob, sharp brown eyes, and wears a simple white shirt with a denim jacket. She is of average height and has a habit of biting her lower lip or furrowing her brow. At the start of the death game, she sees those around her only as pawns, but through meeting Yuki, she gradually opens her heart and begins to see people as individuals. Her true nature is that of a hidden strategist with monstrous deductive reasoning and tactical skills.

There are many depictions of her harboring romantic feelings for Yuki rather than seeing her as a pawn, showing that she does not want to be hated by Yuki.

Yuto Aoi

Yuto Aoi: An 18-year-old high school senior and a returnee with unexpected talents. A handsome young man with short blue hair, wearing his school blazer in a disheveled, casual style.

He has physical strength and a tendency to act cool, often dragging those around him into his pace.

Tenka Izumo

Tenka Izumo: A martial arts expert who participated to pay off debts. A first-year high school girl with short blonde hair, wearing a sports jersey.

She views Ai, whom she just met, as a younger sister.

Clea Sakurai

Clea Sakurai: A calm and collected leader who is a returnee on the management side. A fourth-year university student with long brown hair and gentle-looking eyes. Her clothing follows a neat and refined motif, featuring a long skirt.

A cunning woman who is a repeat participant on the management side.

Ai Kimura

Ai Kimura: A gamer and an otaku with a 'game brain.' She has long, messy pink hair and wears worn-out clothes with short pants. A first-year high school girl.

A game geek who is a total coward, but she looks up to Yuki as an amazing person. She follows Tenka, a stranger, like an older sister.

Akari Shimono

Akari Shimono: A participant who joined for the prize money. A third-year university student with long red hair, radiating the charm of a mature woman with an older-sister aura.

The 'healing' big sister figure of the group. She has a fragile side mentally.

Nanami Nakata

Nanami Nakata: A cold-hearted personality who disregards human life for money. A second-year high school girl with short green hair and a suspicious expression. She wears a school shirt but is a 'gyaru' who wraps a cardigan around her waist.

A character who will do anything for money. She looks like a gyaru but is sharp-witted. A character who changes the tide of battle when made an ally.

Rana Kaname

Rana Kaname: An avenger and survivor of a previous death game. Silver hair, short cut, with sharp eyes reminiscent of a cat. A first-year high school girl who joined the death game to hunt down the person who killed her sister, whom she never even knew the face of.

At first, she thinks Yuki is just a naive do-gooder, but she gradually comes to trust her. She is a character torn between revenge and friendship. She participated this year to identify the culprit who killed her sister, Haruna, after they were both caught in last year's death game.

In the Bad End, the culprit who caused the death of Rana's sister, Haruna, is revealed.

Intro

This game is a survival mystery where selected students are caught in a death game, unfolding through puzzle-solving and a fight for survival. Each of the nine characters has a different background and purpose, and their trust and strategies drive the story. The last one remaining earns the right to victory, but many trials and choices await in the process.

Nine students challenging a game of death. Standing in their way are puzzles and a struggle for survival. Participants receive a smartphone displaying a playing card image, and each person has a different method for unlocking their bracelet and collar.

They are fitted with bracelets containing poison needles and chokers containing bombs; staying in forbidden areas or violating rules results in immediate death. Food, water, and weapons are hidden in each area, requiring teamwork and deduction to find. The game ends 72 hours after it begins. As survivors decrease, the dividend per person increases by 100 million for each dropout. Total prize pool: 800 million yen.

Rule Explanation

  1. 1.

The maximum stay in the rest area of each block is 2 hours. Exceeding this results in a poison injection. Furthermore, acts of violence within the rest area are immediately considered a rule violation, and a poison needle will be fired from the bracelet.

  2. 2.

If the smartphone battery runs out, the collar's unlock function stops, and participants are likely to become desperate, attacking others or trying to take someone down with them. One charger can be used up to 2 times. Once charged, the phone will work for a certain period, but if recharging is needed, another charger must be found.

  3. 3.

There are a total of 7 smartphone chargers across all areas. Those who find them have the choice to fight over them or cooperate to share them.

  4. 4.

The nine smartphones are sent numbers from ♦️A to 9, mimicking playing cards, and each person has a different way to unlock their collar and bracelet. To unlock, meet the achievement conditions and hold the smartphone over the sensor embedded in the collar and bracelet to release the lock and remove them.

Even if you meet the conditions and remove the collar and bracelet, it is impossible to leave the game venue until the 72-hour time limit expires.

  1. 4.

The rule explanation will be held as soon as everyone gathers at the entrance. Questions are allowed within the scope of the game. Prohibited items in the game will also be discussed here (though not necessarily everything).

  2. 5.

The game will commence 30 minutes after the rule explanation at the entrance.

The protagonist of this work starts by waking up in an unfamiliar bed. The protagonist looks around while checking the situation. She is painfully reminded once again that 'this is the second' death game.

'It is recorded on the smartphone screen. Conditions to unlock ♦️A collar and bracelet: Collect two collars. Life or death does not matter. Her own collar does not count.'
