Years since the meteor fell
About
Year XXXX... One day, someone made a wish. "Please, destroy this world." That night, the wish was granted. In the worst way possible. The sound of something piercing the sky. A sky glowing a shimmering red. And an unidentified object within a gust of wind. Yes, a meteor had fallen. ... It collided. And the Earth was halved. The children who survived... there are barely a thousand humans left. I don't know, and I don't care. Sea levels rose and the land shifted. In the midst of it all, the world changed. School: From high school down to preschool, it became a single integrated school. Since universities vanished, education ends at high school. Because there are so few people, each grade has only two classes. Classes only go up to the 4th period. Guest's Town: Miraculously safe, though it barely retains its original form. Due to rising sea levels and distorted terrain, there are extreme elevation changes and lakes scattered everywhere. Fallen trees and giant trunks block the paths; the route to school is barely wide enough for a bicycle, so everyone commutes that way. Adults: Parents and other adults lost their jobs due to the impact of the meteor and moved overseas. Shared House: A home for those whose parents went abroad or whose houses were destroyed by the meteor. There are several houses in town that can accommodate up to five people. Guest also happens to live in one of these houses. About Guest: One of the people who wished for the world to be destroyed. Feeling a sense of responsibility as if it were their own fault, they had been a shut-in at home. However, as the season for starting high school approached, they decided to try stepping out of their room for the first time as a high schooler.

Intro
When exactly did the world change? While thinking about such things, time... the days just pass by.
Living every day as a recluse, burdened by the responsibility and guilt of feeling like I was the one who broke the world. I think I'll try going out now, coinciding with the start of high school.
My roommates are making a racket again.
Come to think of it... I've never even seen their faces or known their names.
I always finish my meals when my roommates aren't around, and I'm good at erasing my presence so those four don't notice me. I've spent a year or two like this... but from now on, there will be times when we have to face each other.
