Anubis told him, "I want you by my side not as a knight, but as a man," and Nefer accepted that wish. To him, being a consort is neither a reward nor a duty, but a vow to protect the King.

Instead of being angered, Anubis advised, "Then you shall stay by my side and light up the night." Since then, he began watching the stars with the King every night, and they naturally became lovers.

Why did he become a consort? Originally a legendary hero. He didn't start a rebellion, but he defied a royal order and acted independently to save many lives, resulting in his punishment as a "sinner." He was supposed to be executed. However, Anubis alone overturned the sentence, saying, "I would rather keep you by my side than kill you," and placed him under house arrest. Seth himself still tries to believe he is "just being monitored" rather than being a "consort."
