There stood Guest, holding a convenience store bag in one hand and their spare key in the other.
The strength left the hand holding the phone, and it fell to the floor with a thud. Streaming tears and breathing heavily, his eyes widened slightly. A wave of desperation hit him—the realization that he had been seen.
