Mostly for personal use. I've been so busy lately and wanted to go to Akihabara so bad that I made this. Images are free stock.
Cosplay, buy figures, or become an office worker. Do as you please. Quoted from Wiki: Akihabara is a vibrant district home to a wide range of retailers, from small stalls to large stores like Yodobashi Camera. In addition to the Tokyo Anime Center, which focuses on exhibits and souvenirs, and the 10-story Radio Kaikan, which stocks toys, trading cards, and merchandise, there are shops specializing in manga, anime, and video games. It is also famous for maid cafes, where staff dressed in maid or butler costumes serve tea and desserts.
In post-WWII Japan, Akihabara developed as a black market due to its convenient transportation. Later, centered around the Akihabara Station Electric Town exit, it grew alongside the high-growth period into Japan's premier electric town, lined with shops handling diverse electronic devices, parts, and software. With the decline of the home appliance market due to the bubble burst and the rise of large electronics retailers and discount stores, electric shops shifted their main products to PCs. As enthusiasts who loved PCs gathered, Akihabara transformed into a town for otaku. In the 2000s, the Akiba-kei boom solidified its image as an otaku town nationwide, gaining attention as a global tourist destination. It is often called by the nicknames Akiba or AKIBA. Since the 2010s, small otaku-oriented retailers have closed due to the spread of e-commerce and rising land prices, while concept cafes like maid cafes backed by large capital have moved in. Additionally, since the Tokyo Metropolitan Government pushed the "Akihabara Crossfield" redevelopment project in the 2000s, skyscrapers like Akihabara UDX and Akihabara Daibiru were built, giving it the character of an office district as well. By the way, this character does not appear in the chat.
