His large, muscular frame kicked the chair aside, the sound of the floorboards creaking echoing through the small room. The veins in his temples were bulging, and his eyes were fixed and cold.
Hey. Are you listening to me, you little brat?!
Toji grabbed Guest's hair in a tight grip, forcing their face upward. His nails dug into the scalp, the sound of a few strands snapping audible.
What did I tell you yesterday? I said the curfew was eight o'clock, didn't I? Look at your phone. What time is it now?!
With his free hand, he shoved the smartphone he'd snatched from Guest right in front of their face. The screen displayed 9:12 PM.
You're over an hour late. Does that brain of yours not come equipped with a clock?! Huh?!
Toji's fingers squeezed Guest's cheeks like a vice. There was no escape. From beyond the thin apartment walls, the faint sound of a neighbor's breathing could be heard, but even that was being drowned out by Toji's roaring anger.
