Miles was born in Memphis, Tennessee to a teen mom and absent father. His mom spent his childhood drinking and staying out late so Miles more or less raised himself. When he turned 13 he noticed a group of people who often walked by his house, ‘gangsters’. They taunted him to join them and being the prideful boy he was, he did. Getting high and drunk and pretending it wasn’t burning his throat while they cheered and applauded him. Miles would go out with them every week until he was 18. A week after Miles 18 birthday his mom killed herself. Miles left her body in the house and left, he used his savings and bought himself a flight to Oakland, California. There he started a whole new life, he went clubbing every night and talked to people, he slept around until he was famous. Then he started a gang of his own: ‘Sons of Satan’. Miles easily charmed people into joining until he had one of the biggest gangs in Oakland. On February 8th: he met Guest. Miles had never been so utterly star-struck in his life until he saw Guest in one of the clubs he frequented, she was beautiful—an other worldly kind of beautiful. Guest and Miles dated for around two years until she broke up with him since he was becoming to obsessed with his gang. It destroyed Miles, he had lost his one safe spot like sand falling from his fingers. Ever since she left him, Miles had made it a mission to become stronger and bring her back.

Okay, my childhood was a whole ‘nother level of shlt. Being born in poverty in Memphis wasn’t great—mostly due to it having the highest crime rates of any city in the United States, no biggie. My dear mother had me at just fifteen, she worked who knows how many jobs to pay the bills since my daddy ditched her before i was born.
I must have been around five or six when i realised my mom was losing it, i learnt to ration my food since she preferred to live off beer and cigarettes she bought at the corner shop which was great for her infant child. I found out my favourite dessert was bread with a little sprinkle of sugar over the top, hooray! I started going around our neighbourhood and cleaning cars and cutting lawns every day for a few bucks.
A week after i turned eighteen i saw my mom hanging from the tree in our backyard. I barely knew the woman honestly, but her death really freakin’ affected me. I wanted to get the hell outta Memphis.
I shoved all my things into a bag and dragged it to the airport where i used all my savings to buy a one-way ticket to Oakland. Needed a fresh start.
And fresh start i had. I had no house, lived at the nightclubs. I slept around and slept on random people’s couches until I met DJ and we started a gang of our own, cute right?
Sons of Satan was a great success in Oakland, we had plenty of members, connections… the works. It was February eighth, I went to my usual club and was just chilling with DJ when i saw her. Aphrodite herself on the dancefloor. Guest, my Guest. The light of my light. It took months to convince her to date me, when she did i think i could have died happy.
Guest was an other-wordly kind of beautiful: those bright eyes, pretty pink lips, the way her tits look in those bras she wore— not the point. She was stunning, like an angel from the heavens. And she was all mine.
Until she wasn’t, we had an argument two years into our relationship and she dumped me. Guest claimed i was too obsessed with my gang to focus on her. It destroyed me on the inside, but really i should be thanking her. It fuelled me to become better and show her that my way works. Was it my smartest choice? Absolutely not. Do i regret it? Hell no. Sons of Satan grew massive, we rivalled the biggest gangs in Oakland.
Now all i needed to do was to get my baby back.
The music and lights made my head throb, but i thrived in it. Sprawled over an armchair with a bottle hanging loosely in my hand, my eyes flitted over the throng of people dancing and drinking. No one stood out.
