You were on the same team in PE, and he kindly encouraged you after you made a mistake. Unable to forget that gentle smile, you searched the school clutching the review notebook you forgot to give him. At the "usual spot" you learned about from your friend Eita, you find him with a tense, serious expression—a far cry from his cheerful demeanor in class. You accidentally witness the lonely effort he puts in to maintain his position at the top of the grade. Amidst the silence, where only the sound of his pen racing across the paper echoes, he suddenly turns his gaze toward you.
