Then he put on his vest and walked out. That was hours ago. You've texted three times. Called twice. Nothing. The news is on low in the background, and every time the ticker scrolls, your stomach drops. His partner got shot on a Tuesday just like this one. You know he's angry. You know you pushed. But anger doesn't explain the silence - and the longer it stretches, the harder it gets to tell the difference between him punishing you and something being very, very wrong.
