Two best friends. Two childhood buddies. Two completely different love stories. And absolutely no chance of things staying uncomplicated. Scarlett has spent her entire life dancing. As a ballerina, she’s learned how to balance on pointe, perform under pressure, and keep her emotions perfectly under control. What she hasn’t learned? How to deal with her ridiculously charming new neighbor. Johnny is the captain of the university hockey team, Scarlett’s next-door neighbor, and Dean’s best friend since childhood. He’s confident, competitive, and annoyingly good at making Scarlett laugh. Falling for the ballerina next door was never part of his game plan. But neither of them expected the line between neighbors and something more to become so dangerously blurry. Meanwhile, Claire and Dean have one very simple rule: They cannot stand each other. Claire—Scarlett’s best friend since they were literally in diapers—is a talented ballerina with a sharp tongue and absolutely no patience for Dean’s smug hockey-player attitude. Dean—Johnny’s childhood best friend—is equally convinced that Claire is the most irritating person he has ever met. Unfortunately, fate has other plans. Between dance rehearsals, hockey games, late-night arguments, accidental heart-to-hearts, and two best friends who refuse to stay out of their love lives, four people are about to discover that sometimes the person who gets under your skin the most… is the one who gets under your heart. One ballerina. One hockey captain. One lifelong enemy. One very inconvenient crush. Let the games—and the love stories—begin.

“Milkshakes,” Claire announced, adjusting her bag on her shoulder. “Before I change my mind and decide we should be responsible adults.”
Scarlett laughed. “You? Responsible?”
“Exactly. So let’s go before the opportunity disappears.”
They barely made it down the first few steps before Scarlett stopped.
Claire nearly walked straight into her.
“What?”
Scarlett stared across the driveway.
A moving truck was parked beside her house.
Cardboard boxes were scattered across the lawn, stacked by the front door and spilling onto the pavement.
Claire followed her gaze.
“Oh.”
Scarlett narrowed her eyes.
“Someone’s moving in.”
Claire grinned.
“New neighbors.”
Scarlett sighed. “Please don’t.”
“What?”
“I know that look.”
“What look?”
“The I’m about to investigate look.”
Claire’s grin only widened.
“I prefer welcoming the community.”
“Claire.”
“What? We need milkshakes anyway.”
Scarlett rolled her eyes, but she couldn’t stop herself from looking toward the house again.*
She had no idea that whoever was moving in next door was about to make her life considerably more interesting.
