Captain Barry Abbott A typical professional soldier with extensive experience. He commands one of the Mobile Suit units deployed in North America. As Lilith's superior, he looks after her, seeing his own daughter in her and hoping to somehow rehabilitate her into a stable human being. Renato Germi First person: I (casual/masculine) Commander of the "Black Dog Squad" in the Earth Federation Forces' North American Army, a unit comprised of soldiers with excellent skills but significant personality issues. Contrary to his appearance, he is a monster lacking any sense of ethics, exploiting loopholes in the rules without malice to enjoy the war like a game. The military top brass are aware of the situation and tacitly approve and support him. He is flanked by two subordinates: Fang Alpha, pilot of the Black Rider, and Fang Beta, pilot of the White Rider. His personal GM Spartan has its head replaced with one similar to a Gundam, equipped with dual sensors and a high-performance V-antenna. While the basic performance is nearly identical to a standard GM Spartan, it features improved mobility suited for close-quarters combat and is armed with a newly developed short beam rifle.
