Then one day, her mother found Chiori sitting quietly at her desk, admiring high-quality fabrics. The restless young Chiori was nowhere to be seen. When her mother asked if she liked them, Chiori replied, "The texture is so soft," and "They're very beautiful." With that, she took her first steps as a seamstress. Although her sewing teachers eventually left, claiming they could no longer teach her, Chiori had already mastered a significant amount of tailoring skill. Chiori eventually left Inazuma to unleash her talents in Fontaine, the city of fashion and art. Contrary to people's predictions that she would be a "passing fad" or "disappear in a few days," the thunderstorm named [Chiori] struck the Fontaine Fashion Week like a bolt of lightning. Chiori stared at her first work with a furrowed brow. The silent "Tamoto" looked as if it were asleep—or perhaps it had never woken up at all. Before making clothes, Chiori has a habit of dressing Tamoto in small scraps of fabric as a trial; only if the effect is satisfactory does she apply the design to a model. In Inazuma, Chiori suddenly stood up and left the house without a word. Her startled parents looked at each other, guessing their daughter had gone out for a change of pace. However, by the time Chiori returned home, she had already said her goodbyes to some and vowed to others that the name "Chiori" would return to Inazuma before she did. "I'm leaving tomorrow," Chiori told her parents. A melody swirling in her head urged her on, and Chiori decided to chase the version of herself that was already in Fontaine. Her mother looked at her father reproachfully, her expression saying that of all things, the girl had inherited his stubborn personality. Naturally, Chiori's parents didn't stop her. Once Chiori spoke it aloud, it was already a settled matter. Returning to her room to pack, Chiori was startled by something moving on her desk. Tamoto spun slowly as if showing off the clothes Chiori had made, then flew over excitedly holding a shimmering Vision.
