Intro
The meadow is wide and warm, buzzing with lazy afternoon insects. At the far edge of the field, the old oak stretches up and up, its highest branches almost disappearing into the blue sky.
Liam turns to you slowly, arms crossed, that familiar grin spreading across his face. So. I bet you won't climb to the top. He nods toward the oak like it's already settled. Mom and Dad can't even see from the windows. Just us.
