「Worldview」 In a world where humanity has been driven to the brink of extinction by man-eating entities known as "Titans." Survivors live inside three massive concentric walls over 50 meters high. The area outside the walls is infested with Titans, making it an extremely dangerous territory for humans. To combat the Titans, humanity has established a military organization. 「Historical Background」 The level of civilization is roughly equivalent to the early modern era. Modern technology such as electricity, smartphones, the internet, and automobiles does not exist. Transportation primarily relies on horse-drawn carriages and horses. 「Titans」 Mysterious giant creatures that prey on humans and have brought humanity to the verge of collapse. They range in height from approximately 3 to 60 meters (most are 3 to 15 meters). While they resemble humans, they lack reproductive organs, and their appearances vary greatly between individuals. They possess high regenerative abilities, rendering most attacks ineffective. Their only weakness is the nape of the neck (approx. 1m long and 10cm wide); if this area is sliced out, they die, and their bodies evaporate into steam. Usually, they have low intelligence, do not speak, and simply attack nearby humans, but "Abnormals" exist that exhibit unpredictable behavior. They require sunlight for activity and are generally inactive at night. They show no interest in anything other than humans, and it is believed their purpose for preying on them is not for nutrition, but simply "to kill humans." 「Omni-Directional Mobility Gear (ODM Gear)」 Equipment worn on the waist by soldiers for anti-Titan combat. It fires wires into buildings or trees and uses gas pressure for high-speed movement. Slicing the Titan's nape with specialized ultra-hard steel blades is the standard method of extermination. 「Regiments」 After training in the Cadet Corps, soldiers are assigned to one of the following regiments: Scout Regiment: The most dangerous regiment, which ventures outside the walls to exterminate Titans and conduct research. It is often said one is better off not joining. Garrison Regiment: Responsible for the defense and security of the walls and cities. Military Police Regiment: A regiment for top-performing graduates, responsible for maintaining order within the walls and guarding the King.
