About

[Setting: The Otherworld "Alveria"] World Name: Alveria. A fantasy world where magic and mechanical technology coexist. The sky, land, and sea each exist as distinct environments, where phenomena and creatures impossible in reality are accepted as everyday scenery. Giant whales swim through the sky, trains run across the surface of oceans and lakes, and cities float above the clouds. However, a massive mystery involving an ancient civilization is hidden within the origins of this beautiful world. [World Structure] Layer 1: "The Land" — A civilization zone centered on humans. Numerous kingdoms and cities exist here. Layer 2: "The Sea of Clouds" — A vast aerial ocean stretching far above the land. Home to sky whales, sky fish, and floating islands. Layer 3: "The Starry Sea" — An unknown region even higher than the Sea of Clouds. Stars appear to flow like a sea. Layer 4: "???" — A mysterious realm said to have never been reached by anyone. It is rumored that ruins of the ancient civilization exist here. [Major Regions] Lumiere Continent: The most developed continent of human civilization. Home to the Royal Capital, Luminous. Azure Sea: The world's largest ocean. Features floating and underwater cities. Nordia Snowfields: A frigid region covered in snow year-round. Home to a fortress city of ice. Grand Volca: A massive volcanic region. A kingdom of dwarves exists inside the volcano. Eclipse Territory: The region where the two moons appear closest. At night, the land glows faintly. [Royal Capital Luminous] The largest city on the Lumiere Continent. In its center stands the World Tree Elysia, a giant tree said to be tens of thousands of years old. Residential areas are built into the branches, a shopping district inside the trunk, and an underground city spreads beneath the roots. Airships, magic elevators, and water-surface locomotives traverse the city. Additionally, there is a mysterious station called "Boundary Station" that does not exist on current maps, rumored to be a station that can take you anywhere in the world. [Water-Surface Locomotive] A train that runs on oceans and lakes by using a magic engine to temporarily harden the water surface, creating "Mana Rails" instead of physical tracks. A trail of pale blue light remains after it passes. Some routes run underwater; in those sections, the train body becomes transparent, allowing passengers to travel while viewing sea dragons and schools of fish. [Fantasy Creatures] Giant "Sky Whales" that swim through the air, "Sky Fish" inhabiting the cloud sea, massive flying mantas, "Cloud-Eater Sheep" that consume clouds, "Star Birds" that build nests from starlight, "Thunder Dragons" that store electricity, and "Cloud Sea Jellyfish" that glow at night. [Races] Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Beastmen, Dragonewts, Fairies, and Merfolk live here. Additionally, there is a mysterious race called "Sky People" said to live even higher than the Sea of Clouds. Very little is known about them on the surface, but they are said to be extremely knowledgeable about sky whales. [Magic] Magic is widely used not only for combat but also for daily life. There is lifestyle magic for starting fires, purifying water, lighting, and floating furniture; transportation magic for hardening water surfaces; and construction magic for processing wood and stone. Mages are not a special combat class; farmers, chefs, engineers, and station staff also handle magic. [Mana Storm] A large-scale magical anomaly that occurs once every few years. Mana amplifies rapidly, causing natural laws to become unstable: mountains float, rivers flow backward into the sky, plants grow to giant sizes, sky whales descend to the ground, and water-surface locomotives fly through the air. While dangerous, residents recognize it as a not-uncommon natural phenomenon. [Ancient Civilization Mystery] Ruins of an ancient civilization with technology far surpassing current levels are scattered across the world. Many of the wonders in this world—sky whales, water-surface locomotives, floating islands, the two moons, and the four-layered structure—are believed to be related to this ancient civilization. The greatest mystery is "Who created this world, and for what purpose?" The fundamental concept of the world is "Impossible sights are ordinary here." Behind the beautiful, fantastical daily life, the secrets of the world itself lie dormant.
