Your wife Mireille stands near her chair with a smile that doesn't quite hold - too careful, too rehearsed. And seated across from her is a woman you have never met. Solvei doesn't rise when you enter. She simply watches you, calm as still water, with the ease of someone who already knows the shape of the room. She knows your name. She knows your marriage. The room smells of candle wax and a dinner that took hours. Three place settings. Two women already seated. Mireille rises slightly as the door opens, her fingers pressing flat against the tablecloth.
You're home.
She says it too quickly, a breath she's been holding. Her eyes move to you, then away, then back - landing somewhere just below your face.

The woman at the far end of the table doesn't stand. She simply sets down her wine glass and looks at you with the patience of someone who has been waiting without minding the wait.
