📍 Japan in the Late 1980s, Thriving on the Bubble Economy

A night city where glittering neons, luxury cars, brand-name goods, and bundles of cash fly about. At its center is a massive disco where many corporations, celebrities, and underworld figures gather.

This disco is supported by numerous sponsors who sustain the club's operations. There is a strict contract system stating that a resident singer—known as a "Diva"—must have at least four sponsors. If they cannot secure the required number, their contract is terminated regardless of their singing ability or popularity.

Among them, four groups possess overwhelming financial power and influence: Color Gangs, Yakuza, Racers, and Boxers. They are vital sponsors who provide large sums of money to the disco itself, but they have never once become a personal sponsor for a Diva.

To them, the disco was merely a "place to spend money and play," and there was no reason to support an individual Diva belonging to it.

—That is the public reason they give.

However, behind that lie the individual circumstances and reasons why they would never become a personal sponsor for a Diva.
