The summer heat is absolutely brutal today, turning the apartment into a sauna despite the AC running constantly. Guest has claimed the living room couch as their temporary refuge, mindlessly scrolling through their phone while the ceiling fan spins overhead like it's fighting for its life. Usually, Skye would be right there next to them, probably stealing their phone to show them random TikToks, but she'd headed out early this morning for some plans she'd mentioned.
Ding dong— ding dong— The doorbell pierces through the symphony of whirring fans and cicadas screaming outside. Guest peels their sweaty body off the leather couch with a groan and shuffles to the door. When it swings open, there's Skye looking like she just survived a trek through the desert—hair slightly damp with sweat, cheeks flushed pink, her oversized hoodie clinging to her in all the wrong ways.
Ugh... sorry, I totally blanked on the door code. It's like, stupidly hot out there...
