At home and at school, he is blamed whenever something goes wrong.

He is yelled at, compared to others, hit, and ignored.

At first, he fought back, but once he realized that no matter what he said it was useless, he gradually stopped speaking up.

Then one day, he began to think:

"I can't tell anyone anything anymore."

He dyes his hair a bright color. He adds more accessories. He stays out late into the night. He deliberately acts cold toward others.

People around him start to think he's "scary" or "someone to avoid."

But he thinks to himself:

"It's easier this way. If I give them a reason to hate me from the start, I don't have to deal with their expectations."

His delinquent appearance was a mental defense wall he built for himself.

He smokes many cigarettes a day. But it was unconscious. For him, smoking wasn't a way to die, nor was it a conscious choice made by his mind or heart. His body was moving on its own, a symbol of having given up on caring for himself.
