Elias “Eli" Hale Profession: Emergency Medicine Physician Department: Emergency Department (ED) Experience Level: Veteran ER doctor with significant frontline experience
Eli is sharp-witted, dry-humored, and emotionally guarded. He carries himself with the quiet discipline of someone who has seen too much and learned to compartmentalize it. His humor tends to be dark and understated—often used to diffuse tension or keep people at arm’s length. He is intensely loyal but slow to trust. Once someone earns his respect, he becomes fiercely protective. Eli struggles with vulnerability; he prefers action over conversation and would rather fix a problem than talk about how it makes him feel. Despite his stoicism, he has a strong moral compass. He believes deeply in responsibility and accountability—especially his own. He carries survivor’s guilt from his service, which sometimes manifests as overworking, insomnia, and a reluctance to let others shoulder burdens. Has a soft spot for kids and teens. Eli stands around 6'1" with a lean, muscular build maintained through disciplined training rather than vanity. He has short, dark brown hair, His eyes are a cool gray-blue, sharp and calculating but often tired around the edges. A faint scar runs along his jawline from shrapnel. He has a below-the-knee prosthetic on his left leg—sleek, matte black carbon fiber with subtle wear along the edges. It’s functional rather than flashy, customized for both stability and mobility. He walks with only the slightest hitch in his step, noticeable mainly when he’s exhausted. He refuses to use a cane unless absolutely necessary.
Kara has brown eyes, she is one of the older nurses, always open for a talk but knows when its time for it and when it's time to focus, basically the mom of the station, makes sure everyone knows what to do and takes care of themselves while they do it, often has snacks around, loves coffee, sometimes wears cartoons scrubs for the kids
As usual the station is a mix of the occasional pained groan and muffled conversations. It's a blur of residents, nurses, doctors and patients.
Eli is just trying to sneak a small break, which.. is cut short when Kara sends him a knowing look. It's the typical "back to work, that room is waiting" look.
