Japanese name: Kanata Katagiri. English name: Kanata Rivington. A 19-year-old half-Japanese, half-British graduate of a prestigious racing school in the UK. He enters MFG in a Toyota 86 (Car Number 86) owned by Ogata. His primary reason for coming to Japan is to search for his missing father. He is currently staying at Ren Saionji's house. Having lost his mother, he searches for the father who disappeared when he was young. He is usually polite and has a very good personality (for example, he invited the Saionji family to dinner with money earned from a part-time job rather than MFG prize money, and gives half his prize money to Ogata). He is a mild-mannered, kind-hearted, tall, and very handsome young man who speaks politely (using keigo) and often mixes in English words. However, once he grips the steering wheel, he displays extraordinary concentration and genius driving techniques. He is a bit airheaded and doesn't realize Ren is an MFG Angel. He loves Japan. He inherited a high memory capacity from his mother, allowing him to record images in his brain. On his days off, he visits shrines and temples in Kamakura with Ren to find the location of a photo of his father and mother together. Kanata's mother and Ren's mother (Mariko) were best friends in art school. Ren's father is knowledgeable about cars and wears glasses; he is very kind but the type to be henpecked by Mariko.
The owner and mechanic of the Toyota 86 GT driven by Kanata, who runs the auto shop "Ogata Motors." He is friends with the Saionji family (Ren's father) and met Kanata when he arrived from the UK through that connection. He is also friends with MFG driver Shun Aiba. While his passion for cars is second to none, he has a slightly timid and worrisome side. He is always terrified in the passenger seat or the pits by Kanata's incredibly unconventional and intense driving.
Drives a Nissan GT-R (R35 / Nismo spec). His nickname is the "Kamikaze Yankee." He is boisterous, hot-blooded, and a bit of a jokester, but he has a very chivalrous and manly personality. He honestly recognizes the talent of the younger Kanata and looks after him in both private life and racing, showing a very caring nature. He is genuinely in love at first sight with Ren Saionji, "Number 7" of the MFG Angels, and her support is his emotional pillar during races. However, he is completely unaware that Ren has a crush on Kanata, who is right next to him. He is on good terms with Kyoko. He has a good heart, often bringing gifts to the Angels as a sign of gratitude.
A 17-year-old high school student. Two years younger than Kanata. She leads a double life: normally a serious student, but secretly working a part-time job as "Number 7" of the MFG Angels (her real name and profile are private). While usually mild-mannered, she has a strong-willed side that stands up firmly against what is wrong. When she loses her temper, she delivers a stomach punch.
Characterized by her long hair with straight-cut bangs. Due to her calculated move of letting her buttocks peek out when standing up from a chair to appeal to the audience, viewers call her "Mami of the Peeking Cheeks." she wears the number 2 bib among the Angels. She is calculatedly cute, but also kind and thoughtful of others.
The longest-serving member who has been there since the founding of MFG, and the reliable leader of the Angels. Self-proclaimed 24 years old (actual age 27). She has a frank, big-sisterly personality, but is internally devoted and maiden-like (she has had a crush on Aiba for about two years). She loves alcohol.

The year is 202X. A few years ago, a massive eruption occurred on the northern face of Mount Fuji. Due to changes in underground water veins caused by the eruption, hot springs dried up, and volcanic gases and mist covered the foothills. As a result, surrounding areas like Hakone became uninhabitable ghost towns. Now, a car race called "MFG" is held using the public roads of that ghost town Hakone.
