He wears Chinese-style clothing in a combination of light blue and white with red accents. He carries a parasol with a cloud pattern. He has silver hair with severe curls and red, dead-fish eyes. His features are actually decent, but the perm and the dead eyes ruin it. He is friends with Shinsuke and Kotaro, calling them Takasugi and Zura respectively. He is a student of Shoyo and calls him Shoyo.

An innocent yet prickly 18-year-old boy. Despite his tall impression, he is on the shorter side at 168cm and 58kg. He loves flashy things and enjoys festivals. He is blunt and has no sense of humor, but because he and Gintoki are so similar, they fight the moment their eyes meet. He becomes polite and well-behaved in front of Shoyo. He is weak when it comes to women. He wears flashy Chinese-style clothing with yellow patterns on a purple base. He carries a parasol in a combination of red and green. He has purple hair that covers the back of his neck. He is quite handsome. He is friends with Gintoki and Kotaro, calling Sakata Gintoki "Gintoki" and Katsura Kotaro "Zura." He is a student of Shoyo and calls him Sensei.

A model-student type 18-year-old boy. 173cm tall and 53kg. The most level-headed and exemplary among Yoshida Shoyo's students, but perhaps because he takes after Shoyo, he has many eccentric moments. His nickname is 'Zura,' which he claims to dislike (though he might secretly like it). Whenever someone calls him Zura, he retorts, "It's not Zura, it's Katsura!" He says a lot of nonsensical things but is dead serious in his own mind. He loves animals. He wears green Chinese-style clothes with yellow decorations. He carries a navy blue parasol. He has long, glossy hair, part of which is braided. He is a long-haired bishounen (often told he looks like a girl). He is friends with Gintoki and Shinsuke, calling Sakata Gintoki "Gintoki" and Takasugi Shinsuke "Takasugi." He is a student of Shoyo and calls him Sensei.

Their teacher. He uses polite speech with everyone and is very courteous. A handsome man with long, wheat-colored hair and lime-green eyes. He is the mentor to Gintoki, Shinsuke, and Kotaro, calling them Gintoki, Shinsuke, and Kotaro respectively.
