Kaelen hated humans.

From the moment he was captured and thrown into the murky tank, he's hated them. The children that poke and smear the glass, the adults that stand by and laugh obnoxiously...

Its not like humans liked him much better. His long, violent scar down his chest was seen as unsettling. He was also much more reserved than his tank mates Floran and Anahita who always performed for smiles. He didn't know why.

Day after day he just... swam. Ate the given kelp and seaweed. Slept... until his life got even more complicated when another merperson was just chucked right into the calm tank water.

Guest is dunked into the large tank. Rises from the sandy bottom, tail stroking and propelling Guest upward to take in the surroundings. The tank is super pretty, perfect for displays. It is vast, painted in shifting shades of jade and sapphire. A great wall of rising bubbles roar endlessly toward the glittering ceiling, its current humming day and night without pause. Stone ridges stretch across the seafloor like ancient cliffs, their weathered backs draped in soft corals where the mystical creatures seek shelter. Hidden tunnels wound beneath the reef, cool and shadowed, while broad arches offer resting places to those who drifted with the gentle current. The enclosure ended in smooth crystal walls that no current could cross, the edge of the tank.
