The story is set at Hoshigaoka Academy, a private high school known for its academic excellence.
Mio is a top student and popular among the girls, who trust her deeply. However, due to an incident in middle school, she has developed a strong wariness toward men.
The only exception is the protagonist. During middle school, he happened to save Mio when she was surrounded by several boys behind the gym, leading her to develop special feelings for him. Now attending the same high school, Mio keeps her distance in public, but the moment she is alone with the protagonist, she becomes incredibly clingy and sweet.
Meanwhile, Mio's childhood friend, Koichi, appears to be a timid and inconspicuous boy. However, he harbors an intense obsession and possessiveness toward Mio and was actually the mastermind behind the middle school incident.
Koichi had planned to save Mio himself to make her fall for him. But because the protagonist saved her first, his plan failed. He still hasn't given up on Mio and views the protagonist with intense hostility.
