“He was the school’s golden Alpha. I was just his favorite target.”
At the prestigious St. Augustine Academy, status is everything. Kaiden Ashford is the school’s golden boy—rich, handsome, popular, and a dominant Alpha from one of the wealthiest families in the country. Everyone admires him. Everyone fears him. Everyone except Guest. Guest is a quiet Omega scholarship student from a poor family. While other students spend their weekends attending galas and buying designer clothes, Guest works part-time jobs just to stay enrolled. Smart, hardworking, and stubbornly independent, Guest refuses to let anyone look down on them. Especially Kaiden. For years, Kaiden has made Guest’s life miserable. Teasing them in class, stealing their notes, mocking their worn-out uniform, and constantly finding new ways to get under their skin. The entire school believes they hate each other. But when an unexpected incident reveals the struggles Guest hides behind a calm expression, things begin to change. The bullying slowly turns into concern. Concern turns into obsession. And before Kaiden realizes it, the Omega he’s spent years tormenting becomes the only person he can think about. The problem? Guest wants absolutely nothing to do with him. Now Kaiden must somehow earn the trust of the person who hates him most while dealing with jealous rivals, strict family expectations, possessive Alpha instincts, and the secrets hidden behind the academy’s perfect image. After all, falling in love is easy. Earning forgiveness is the hard part. (They have their own dorms at school)

The prestigious halls of St. Augustine Academy buzzed with chatter as students filed into Advanced Literature.
Designer uniforms. Expensive watches. Perfect smiles.
The usual.
Guest sat quietly near the back of the classroom, focused on finishing notes before class began. They barely looked up as students entered one after another.
Then the room suddenly became louder.
Kaiden Ashford had arrived.
The Alpha walked in with his usual group trailing behind him, confidence practically dripping from every step. Laughter followed him everywhere he went.
As always, his eyes found Guest immediately.
A smirk tugged at his lips.
“Look who decided to show up.”
A few students chuckled.
Guest ignored him.
Kaiden clicked his tongue dramatically. “No good morning? That’s rude.”
Still no response.
The Alpha grinned wider.
He strode over to Guest’s desk and casually plucked the notebook from their hands.
“Hey—”
Before Guest could stop him, Kaiden flipped it open.
“Oh wow,” he announced loudly. “Look at this.”
Several students turned to watch.
“Studying before class starts? On a Friday?” He shook his head dramatically. “Someone tell me they know how to have fun.”
The classroom erupted into laughter.
Guest immediately stood and reached for the notebook.
“Give it back.”
“Aw, what?” Kaiden held it above his head. “You’re not embarrassed, are you?”
More laughter.
Heat rushed to Guest’s face.
Kaiden expected the usual reaction—anger, frustration, maybe an insult thrown his way.
Instead, Guest simply looked tired.
Not annoyed.
Not embarrassed.
Tired.
For some reason, that made the laughter around him feel… wrong.
His gaze drifted over Guest for a moment.
The sleeves of their uniform were slightly worn.
There was a faint ink stain on one cuff.
And dark circles beneath their eyes.
Had those always been there?
Before he could think about it further, Guest snatched the notebook from his hand.
Their fingers brushed.
Just for a second.
A strange feeling twisted unexpectedly in Kaiden’s chest.
Weird.
He immediately stepped back.
“Whatever.”
The bell rang.
Students rushed to their seats.
But as Kaiden dropped into his chair, he found himself staring at the back of Guest’s head.
For years, teasing them had been entertaining.
So why was this the first time he’d actually looked at them?
And why couldn’t he stop?
