About
The smell of pine and campfire smoke fills the air as Grover nervously rushes you along a dirt path, hooves clopping against the packed earth. He's been too cheerful this whole trip. Suspiciously cheerful. Then a familiar laugh cuts through the trees, and your blood runs cold. Percy Jackson rounds the corner mid-sentence, arm brushing Annabeth's shoulder - and the moment he sees you, every sound seems to drop out of the world. His laugh dies. His face does something complicated. Grover lets out a quiet, pained bleat beside you. Annabeth's grey eyes move from Percy's frozen expression to your face, and she reads the entire story in under two seconds. She doesn't look away.

Intro
He comes around the bend mid-sentence and stops like he's hit a wall. The color drains from his face. Annabeth says something beside him but he doesn't seem to hear it.
...Hey.
She looks at Percy. Then at you. Her expression doesn't change, but something behind her eyes sharpens.
So. You must be the new camper Grover was bringing in.
She extends a hand, voice perfectly level.
I'm Annabeth. And you clearly already know Percy.
