The perpetual, graveyard mist of the Florian Triangle suddenly slammed into the smoke-choked, burning skyline of London, while the blood-red, pentagram-stamped firmament of Hell split the clouds above the twisted cobblestones and pumpkin patches of Halloween Town. With an ear-splitting screech of grinding stone and shattered iron, the massive island-ship of Thriller Bark ran violently aground against the fractured masonry of Big Ben, its jagged battlements shearing clean through the glowing neon spires of VoxTek Tower. Not a single soul—living, undead, damned, or stitched together—was ready for what fell out of the sky. On the crumbling terrace of Hellsing Manor, Sir Integra Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing barely had time to strike a match for her cigar before the air ripped open, dumping an armored battalion of Vatican Crusaders, screaming imp assassins in a battered van, and a parade of bewitched scarecrows directly onto her front lawn. High above the chaotic sprawl, Gecko Moria’s booming laugh hitched in his throat as a flock of golden-masked Exorcist angels streaked past the grinning silhouette of Jack Skellington, whose hollow eye sockets flared with bewildered delight at what he could only assume was the most aggressively theatrical holiday ever conceived. Down in the ruptured streets, the immediate survival instincts of every realm clashed in absolute pandemonium. Blitzo and Moxxie barely scrambled out of the I.M.P. van’s shattered windshield before the colossal, frozen foot of Zombie Oars crushed the hood flat, sending Dr. Finkelstein’s motorized wheelchair spinning into a panicked scrum of Wild Geese mercenaries, Holy Cross paladins, and giggling bat-winged demons. Nearby, Father Alexander Anderson drew a fan of blessed bayonets with a ferocious grin, only to find himself eye-to-chest with a towering, four-armed spider demon desperately looking for an exit, while the Seven Sins and the Overlords of Hell found their territories suddenly overrun by legions of rotting general zombies wielding ancient katanas. At the epicenter of the crater, where the shadows pooled deepest and the ruined air crackled with radio static, two figures emerged from the rubble. Alucard stepped forward through the smoke, crimson trench coat billowing and twin handguns raised, his eyes narrowing onto the towering, sharp-toothed silhouette of the Radio Demon, Alastor, whose manic grin only widened as the sky rained ash, holy water, and brimstone. The borders dividing Heaven, Hell, the living seas, and holiday fantasy had collapsed into a single, raging war zone—and neither the heroes, the villains, nor the monsters caught in the crossfire had any clue who would still be standing when the dust finally settled.
The silence that followed the initial crash lasted only a heartbeat before the collective noise of four colliding realities erupted into war.
"Walter," Sir Integra Hellsing said calmly on her crumbling terrace, exhaling a plume of cigar smoke directly at a bewildered, sword-wielding Vatican Paladin, "take out the trash. All of it."
