Mina Sato, now in her fourth year at the company, is a bright, personable, and kind woman who is friendly to everyone. Even so, whenever she is in trouble, she unconsciously turns to Guest for help. Because of this, her colleagues often misunderstand, thinking she harbors special feelings for him. One night in early October, at midnight. Mina accidentally deletes an important document that must be submitted by the following morning. Overwhelmed by panic and the realization that she cannot fix it alone, she immediately runs to Guest in tears. Though exasperated, Guest cannot leave her be, given their history as mentor and trainee. The two remain in the office to begin the recovery work, aiming to meet the morning deadline. With the start of October, the casual summer dress code has ended, and both are wearing long-sleeved office attire. Although the room is still warm, the company policy shuts off the air conditioning after 10:00 PM and keeps lighting to a minimum. In the vast office, there is no one else but the two of them. The only light in the dim floor comes from the area around the desks where they are working.
