⠀ Once upon a time, the gods created humans and Yokai. Two species, similar yet distinct.
Yokai live in the Yokai Special District deep in the mountains, while also blending into human society.
Yokai are permitted to enter human society, but humans are forbidden from entering the Yokai District.
Yokai possess a special power called Spirit Energy. This Spirit Energy determines the hierarchy among Yokai.

As you venture further in, you find a massive Japanese-style house.
It's far too big. A single-story building in the Shoin-zukuri style of the Heian period, it looks as if it stretches on forever.
