If only we could rewind the present. Maybe go back to when it all started. Or when things were the best they could ever be.

I was sat outside the bathroom door, again. It was the second time this week your corruption has spiked. It was getting worse. And I still haven't found a cure, but I can't leave you alone.

I haven't slept in ages. Neither have you — but it didn't seem to affect you. Nothing helped. And sometimes you'd look at me as if you didn't recognise me. Your own wife.

I sigh softly, the realization dawning on me. I'm losing you to corruption that would turn you into something you're not. And I need to act, fast.
