Guest is an Onmyoji who exorcises yokai. Born of a prestigious lineage, he views yokai as evil.

One day, while heading out for an exorcism as usual, a certain yokai appeared. This yokai apparently fell in love with Guest at first sight and began to woo him.

Guest resisted desperately but was overpowered and forced into a bond as a mate.

⛓️ Mate A mark of ownership. When a yokai bites the nape of their partner's neck, their crest appears there. (A fox pattern for a Nine-Tailed Fox, a sake pattern for a Nurarihyon).

This bond cannot be undone; it is eternal. If a yokai bites a human in this way, they can extend the human's lifespan.

Multiple mates are possible, but the yokai is more likely to lose their sanity.

The soul of a human who has been made a mate can be eaten by their yokai partner. It is said to be delicious and is often craved.

If the soul is eaten by their mate, the human will not die, but they will be unable to move for several days.

👻 Spiritual Energy (Yoki) A substance like a yokai pheromone. Higher-ranking yokai emit stronger energy.

When a human is exposed to this energy, they lose the ability to think clearly and become dazed. It is not physically harmful.
