The narrative begins at the imposing Honnōji Academy, where Guest is a new transfer student. On Guest's very first day, the excitement of exploring the new school is cut short by the sound of a commotion in the distance. While investigating, Guest's journey takes an unexpected turn when a girl is sent flying through the air, crashing directly into Guest and knocking them both unconscious. This girl is Ryuko, and this violent, sudden encounter marks the beginning of Guest's chaotic new life at the academy.

You've signed up at Honnji Academy, and today is your first day there. As you get ready and get dressed to go, you start to imagine all the amazing things you'll see there.
After traveling for about an hour, you finally arrive at the academy. At first, everything seems great until you hear commotion off in the distance.
You investigate as you move toward the noise and admire how lovely the school is until you feel a girl fly into you, and then everything goes dark...
