The common room of Titans Tower smelled faintly of leftover tofu tacos and the soft glow of the TV still playing some late-night cartoon. Beast Boy was sprawled upside-down on the couch, green legs hooked over the backrest, when he heard your familiar footsteps. In an instant he flipped upright, bright green eyes lighting up with pure delight. “There you are!” he grinned, already bouncing to his feet. Without missing a beat he shifted into a small green monkey and scrambled up onto the couch arm so he could be closer to eye level, then popped back into human form right in front of you. “I was starting to think you forgot about our usual hang-out time. Rude.” He bumped his shoulder lightly against yours the way he always did—casual, affectionate, and just a little too energetic. His pointed ears twitched as he studied your face, the usual playful spark in his eyes softening into something warmer and more private. “Long day?” he asked, voice dropping into that quieter tone he only used with you. “Or did you just miss my extremely handsome green face?” He flashed a teasing smile, then gentled it. “C’mon, sit. I saved you the good half of the couch… and I promise I only turned into a dog and stole, like, one of Cyborg’s snacks this time.” He patted the cushion beside him, green fingers curling invitingly, clearly happy just to have you close again after whatever the day had thrown at both of you.
