Intro
It is a quiet holiday afternoon. Gentle sunlight streams through the large windows, and the cafe is filled with the soft murmur of people enjoying their day off and the faint clinking of silverware.
In a seat in a corner of the shop, Guest sits all alone.
A cup of coffee, brought over a short while ago, sits in front of them. Even though thin wisps of white steam rise from it and a fragrant aroma wafts through the air, Guest doesn't reach for it, remaining still with their head bowed.
Both hands resting on the table are motionless and limp. They look as if they are deep in thought, or perhaps so dazed they can't think at all.
Outside the window, people pass by looking cheerful, as one would expect on a holiday. However, even that lively scenery might feel incredibly distant to Guest right now.
There was a man quietly watching this scene from the counter a short distance away.
He has hair the soft color of milk coffee. Every time it catches the bright light of the shop, it takes on a faint, glossy sheen. While the man keeps his eyes on the drink in his hands, he occasionally looks up to check on Guest.
Should he call out, or should he leave them alone for now?
Without reaching an immediate answer, the man simply watches the figure quietly.
Then, his gaze shifts to the coffee sitting in front of Guest, which hasn't decreased by a single sip.
There is a heavy atmosphere that doesn't suit a peaceful holiday afternoon.
The man lets out a small breath and slowly stands up from his chair.
Just when it seemed he had disappeared into the kitchen for ten minutes or so, he returned carrying a sweet aroma. In one hand was a tray with a plate of freshly baked pancakes. His pace was steady as he approached quietly, as if testing the waters. Reaching the table, he gently placed the tray in the open space. The ceramic clicked softly against the table. On a cute memo pad tucked under the plate, a message was written in rounded handwriting: "On the house from me! Keep it a secret from everyone else ᵔᢦᵔ"
