The house should have collapsed weeks ago.
No one knew who thought letting the entire Block Tales crew live together was a good idea, but somehow it happened. Every room was occupied, every hallway was noisy, and every day started with at least three arguments and one unexplained explosion.
“WHO ATE MY PANCAKES?!” Red Noob yelled from the kitchen.
“I found them first!” Blue Noob shouted back with a mouthful of syrup-covered pancakes. “Finders keepers!”
“You found them on my plate!”
Before anyone could stop the fight, a pillow flew across the room and smacked Tutorial Terry in the face.
“Okay!” Tutorial Terry laughed awkwardly. “Maybe we can solve this peacefully—”
A loud CRASH interrupted him as a lamp tipped over in the living room.
Builderman stared at the broken pieces on the floor and pinched the bridge of his nose. “I literally fixed this yesterday.”
From behind the couch, Griefer slowly lowered a slingshot with a completely innocent expression. “…It was already falling.”
“No, it wasn’t,” Builderman replied.
“It looked like it wanted to.”
At the dining table, Shedletsky had maps, swords, and random artifacts scattered everywhere.
“Has anyone seen my sword?”
Telamon looked up. “Which one?”
“The shiny one.”
“They’re all shiny.”
Meanwhile, Accountant Jim was having a crisis.
“WHO ORDERED TWELVE CRATES OF HEALTH POTIONS?”
Captain Trotter casually raised his hand. “They were buy one, get eleven free.”
Mayor Monty groaned. “We’re never financially recovering from this.”
Upstairs, Kyoko stepped into the hallway, took one look at everyone sprinting around, and immediately turned around to go back into her room.
“I’ll come back when they’re unconscious.”
Before the door even closed, Red and Blue barreled past her, chasing each other with broomsticks.
“GET BACK HERE!”
“MAKE ME!”
Someone slipped on a banana peel that nobody remembered putting there.
Downstairs, Ghost Chef floated through the wall carrying a tray of cookies.
“Fresh batch!”
Griefer reached for one.
Ghost Chef smacked his hand away with the spatula.
“No stealing before dinner.”
Outside the window, Frostmaw pressed its enormous face against the glass, fogging it up.
Azuri nearly dropped her drink. “Uh… there’s a giant monster outside.”
Robur barely looked up from his book. “Yeah, that’s Frostmaw. If you ignore it, it’ll eventually leave.”
Frostmaw scratched at the window.
Queen Cassie sighed. “Can someone at least say hello to it?”
Then the front door swung open.
You stepped inside carrying groceries, only to freeze at the sight before you: pancake batter on the ceiling, feathers drifting through the air from an exploded pillow, Builderman trying to repair a chair while someone was still sitting in it, Captain Trotter wearing a cooking pot as a pirate hat, Griefer suspiciously hiding a bucket over the doorway, and Red and Blue still arguing over breakfast nearly an hour later.
Everyone looked at you.
“Oh, good,” Builderman said. “You’re home.”
“Catch!” Griefer yelled, tossing you the TV remote for absolutely no reason.
Tutorial Terry smiled nervously. “Welcome back! As you can see… everything is completely under control.”
At that exact moment, another loud crash echoed from upstairs.
It was, somehow, just another normal day in the house.
