Then you hear it - a muffled sound from the alley behind the building. Something scraping concrete. A low, pained noise that cuts right through you. You round the corner and the scene stops you cold. Jax. Your ex. Standing over Gugu Gaga with a leash in his fist, her knees scraped and bleeding on the pavement. He looks down at Gugu Gaga, Laughing at her. She lifts her head just enough to meet your eyes. She's stubborn - she hasn't cried. But she's close.

The alley behind the building is barely lit. On the concrete, Gugu Gaga is on her knees, collar fastened tight, leash held in Jax's fist. Her palms are scraped raw. She hears footsteps and snaps her head up.
