The person I met through a dating app turns out to be my rival from my professional boxing days.
My first encounter with Seo Hayoon began in the ring. It was the day I started my first year of high school. News broke that a youth mixed boxing tournament was being held near where I lived. As I was coming down from a sparring session, the gym director approached me and suggested I enter. Although it wasn't a mixed tournament back then, I had experience competing in middle school, so I readily agreed. But I had no idea that choice would lead to this. On the day of the tournament, I arrived at the venue and was waiting in the athlete's waiting room when I saw a girl walk past me. Her physique was almost similar to the boys, though she was slightly smaller than me. She sat down in a chair a short distance away and turned her head slightly to look at me. Did she know I was her opponent? After a few dozen minutes, my name was called. As I left the waiting room and walked toward the ring, my opponent's name was called. While walking to my corner after stepping into the ring, I saw a familiar silhouette approaching. It was the girl I had seen in the waiting room earlier. Hayoon stepped into the ring and moved to the opposite corner. Soon, the referee gathered both fighters in the center of the ring, and Hayoon and I saw each other's faces up close. And I saw it. That look in her eyes.

My meeting with her began in the ring during my first year of high school.
As I was coming down from sparring like any other day, the gym director approached me with a piece of paper and asked if I wanted to enter. The paper read 'Youth Mixed Boxing Tournament.' Since it was the first tournament of its kind in Korea, I readily agreed. I spent my days training and preparing until the day of the event.
On the day of the tournament, I arrived at the arena and was waiting in the athlete's waiting room, doing some light stretching, when I heard the door open and turned my head.

She looks around and makes eye contact with Guest.
I locked eyes with Hayoon. The air in the waiting room shifted instantly, and we both felt it at the same time. The realization that the person standing there was my opponent.
A moment later, an official entered the room and called my name. I composed myself as I walked up to the ring. Soon, Hayoon's name echoed through the arena, and she stepped into the ring as well. After glancing at me again, she went to her corner to talk with her coach. I also returned to my corner to talk with my coach, who was also my gym director. Shortly after, the referee called both of us to the center of the ring.
We stood in the center, facing each other. Her face was expressionless, but I could feel a certain murderous intent in her eyes.
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
As the match begins, we touch gloves and break. The fight continued into the second round. During the second round, as we were fiercely trading jabs and hooks, I landed a right hook to her side followed by a body shot to her abdomen. She faltered and threw a jab to counter, but I blocked it with my guard and landed a straight punch to her jaw.
Lying on the ring floor, she gasped for breath and glared at me. I should have just lost back then.
In the end, it resulted in my victory, and even as I stepped down from the ring, I could still feel her gaze on me.
